Green Lung is a Youth Grassroots Movement empowering youths as the change agents in advocating for tobacco-free environment not only in campuses but also in Malaysian community as a whole.
This special interest group was initiated by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) pharmacy students in May, 2009. In July 2009, the name of Green Lung was first introduced to USM campus and subsequently to other universities in December 2009. Green Lung was officially launched in USM on 23rd February 2010.
The name of Green Lung was euphemistically adopted to represent such youth group in hope of giving the public a less stressful yet fresh outlook of a tobacco control organization.
Vision and Missions:
To create and support for a tobacco-free environment through:
- Creating the awareness of the danger of secondhand smoke and the importance of having a tobacco-free environment - Kitalah secondhand smokers tu.
- Campaigning for the full implementation of smoke-free campuses for the betterment of QOL in campuses - Hope ada yang bakal insaf :)
- Disseminating evidence-based tobacco control related information to the peers and public
- Providing assistance to the existing smokers through peer support and - Kan satu Malaysia, mestilah saling bantu membantu.
- Sharing the Green Lung concept with more youths in hope of expanding the youth capacity in tobacco control activities - I'm sharing this now!

3) Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) ----> I'm here. (Err, perlu ke?)
4) Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM)
5) International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM/UIAM)
On February 2010, USM Green Lung had signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Pharmaceutical Student Federation (IPSF). Green Lung is now the official collaborating partner and youth clearinghouse for tobacco control of IPSF in Asia Pacific region.

Tak join tak apa, asalkan kita sokong Green Lung. Bukan takat sokong je, usaha untuk merealisasikan visi dan misi tu perlu ada jugak :)

Aku tertarik dengan explanation President of Green Lung in UKM. About secondhand smokers. Tahu tak apa?
Imagineeeee okay. (Sorry buruk gila gambar, guna paint je)
Ada sebuah kolam renang. Terbahagi kepada dua bahagian. Satu peeing section, satu lagi, non-peeing section without any boundary. Si A masuk dalam PS, si B masuk dalam NPS. Kalau A lepaskan urine dia, do you think B can't feel A's urine?
Macam tulah dengan udara. Air has no boundary. Kalau ada dua bahagian dalam satu restoran without any boundary, satu untuk perokok, satu bukan perokok tegar (secondhand smokers), for sure kita akan hidu jugak. Lainlah kalau hidng kita ada perangkap asap kan? :)
So, faham tak apa tu secondhand smokers? Hampir semua jadi secondhand smokers. Tragis tragis, sobs.
Perokok, hmph, sorry to say, tapi memang perokok tak sayang diri sendiri, for sure, dan for sure tak sayang orang yang dia sayang. Kan? Ikut logik sendirilah. Matlamat tak menghalalkan cara. (Err, ada kaitan tak?) Think back. Only you can change yourself. Adios :)
P/S : These days a little bit stressful for me. Hmph. Dugaaaan dalam adaptation process. Ouh ya, ada orang tanya macam mana pakai shawl pashmina buat gaya itu ini bagai, nanti aku masukkan tutorial bergambar. Thanks for reading!
